The Bible describes repentance as a profound realization of our sins and the resulting sorrow that leads us to change our thoughts and actions. The Apostle Paul frames it this way: “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death” (2 Corinthians 7:10).
A “correct” understanding of repentance is absolutely fundamental to biblical Christianity. But what does it really mean to “repent”? Repentance implies a posture of our heart where we are completely honest with ourselves AND with GOD. The fact that the GOD of the universe has made a way whereby we can enter into His presence to acknowledge our true motives and then provide an avenue of mercy to turn from our past course of sinful action…is beyond words.

“Do this, knowing that this is a critical time. It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep of spiritual complacency; for our salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed in Christ. The night [this present evil age] is almost gone and the day of Christ’s return is almost here. So let us fling away the works of darkness and put on the full armor of light.” ~ Romans 13:11-12 (AMP)

Incredibly so, this was the Apostle Paul’s warning to the first century church in Rome. So over 2000 years later, the urgency has only intensified.

So let me ask you…where do you think we stand as a culture, as a Church and you as an individual Christian? And why? Only the Word of God provides the answers and the hope that we so desperately need in this hour. Please join us as Pastor Joon Hwang and Pastor Alvin Richards challenges and equips us in this critical area. More than ever, we can ill afford to hit the snooze button, dismissing the alarm resuming our sleep.
